Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What separates Fosberry Foods & Co. from all the rest?
Glad you asked! We love this question. The answer is simple, priorities. The bulk of our energy goes into sourcing every ingredient that goes into our broth. We pride ourselves on using bones from animals that were humanely raised on open pastures with clean diets free of antibiotics, hormones and grains. We prioritize this above all else because what goes into the animal’s body goes into our body. We only use organic vegetables and herbs and our water is filtered, ensuring the final product is as pure and flavorful as it is packed full of vitamins, minerals and gelatin. You can rest assured knowing that our broths are free of gluten, dairy, soy, salt, preservatives, MSG, added flavorings and added colorings. *All of our products are made in a kitchen free of: gluten, dairy and soy.
How is the broth delivered?
We offer nationwide shipping via UPS. But for week’s we are limiting our shipping to Victoria state only. The broth is shipped frozen solid, packaged inside an insulated liner with dry ice and should be refrigerated or frozen as soon as itâs delivered. Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for products that spoil after delivery. Since our broth is shipped frozen solid, it should remain in the temperature safe zone (Under 35°F) until it is delivered. Your broth may arrive partially thawed and slushy, this is okay, just be sure to refrigerate or freeze it immediately to prevent further thawing. In the unlikely event that your broth arrives spoiled, please see our return policy for further instruction.
Where do your ingredients come from?
We firmly believe this to be a very important question to ask when considering what to put in your body. We believe in complete transparency because you shouldnât have to wonder where your food comes from. We source many of our ingredients from ranches and farms located here in & around Victoria and when needed, supplement through other quality purveyors. We use only bones from organic pasture-raised animals and only organic vegetables, herbs and spices.
How is your broth prepared?
Our broths are slowly simmered for 24-48 hours to extract as much flavor and nutrients as possible. They are then strained and cooled prior to being packaged and frozen for shipment. We use only stainless steel pots and utensils, and we recognize that the possibility of leaching nickel and other elements into our broths is present. We would love to use ceramic or cast iron cookware, but the scale of our production would not be possible as there are currently no purveyors that manufacture ceramic cookware at the commercial level. We are faced with many inefficiencies as a small business and weâre currently working with purveyors and materials experts to come up with a solution.
Where is my order?
Once your order is processed, you will receive a confirmation email from us with your order information and details on what to expect next.
You will receive a second email with a tracking number when delivery team picks up the shipment from our kitchen. If you never received your order please email us at support@fosberryfoods.com for further instruction.
How is your broth packaged?
We put 16 fluid ounces of broth in each BPA-free stand-up spouted pouch for maximum freshness and to eliminate spills, leaks, or cracks possible in other, more brittle plastic or glass containers. And did you know that flexible packaging, like our pouches, use up to 50% less raw materials and energy to produce and transport than glass?!
How do I thaw my broth?
You have a few options! Run the pouch under some warm water before reheating in a pot on your stove. Or, you can let it thaw out in the refrigerator over night. Additionally, you can reheat your broth directly in the pouch! Do this by placing the pouch in a pot of water over medium heat until heated through, ten minutes or so. We like this option the best because you donât lose any broth to evaporation! We highly advise against the microwave, as our current pouch construction in not microwave-safe (but will be soon!).
How do I use my broth?
Let your imagination run wild!; We want you to get the maximum benefit out of your broth, and enjoy it the way you want to enjoy it. You can season it and drink it straight up, make a delicious soup with it, wash your face with it (although we donât recommend that), or you can visit our blog for delicious recipes and fun ideas!
How long will my broth last?
Your broth will last 20-30 days in the refrigerator or up to 1 year frozen. You can even thaw your broth, fill ice cube trays with it and refreeze to use as needed!
What is the 30 day broth challenge?
What?
